Jose Mourinho hatches summer transfer plan based on key Manchester United star
The Manchester United boss has recently clashed with certain members of his squad, and grown frustrated with their attitudes.
With the board fully backing Mourinho’s approach and issuing players like Paul Pogba an ultimatum of getting behind the manager or leaving the club, the Portuguese has now told Ed Woodward of the type of new recruit he wants to see arriving at Old Trafford.
Mourinho views Nemanja Matic’s attitude as exemplary and has called upon the Manchester United board to add players in the Serb’s mold as he looks to form a side capable of competing at the highest level, according to the Independent.
Matic’s ability to take on responsibility and remain disciplined for the sake of the team is something Mourinho will demand in new additions, with the board totally behind his plans.
A central midfielder capable of playing alongside Matic and Pogba is thought to be the priority, with new defenders also expected to be drafted in as Mourinho grows more content with his attacking options after the arrival of Alexis Sanchez in January.
Woodward fully believes Mourinho’s plans will come to fruition in the coming years ahead and United will once again spend big in order for the club to continue their rebuild in the post-Sir Alex Ferguson era.
