A festival reveller might never know how he was disfigured after police closed the case into his attack.
Jimmy Leggett was at Creamfields in Cheshire on August 27 and sustained horrific injuries including a gaping wound in his cheek – but had no recollection what had happened.
Cheshire Police investigating the attack say no witnesses have come forward and as the 21-year-old from Essex has no memory of how he came to suffer shocking wounds, they have had to wrap up the case.
However, officers have confirmed they would consider re-opening the investigation if any new information come to light.
The appeal to find out what happened to Mr Leggett went viral due to the severity of his injuries.
Speaking about his shocking injuries, Mr Leggett said he feared the incident may cost him his sight in his left eye.
He said: ‘I had ten stitches underneath the cheek itself, I got stitches all across my eyelid because my eyelid was in half. And obviously up my eye and around my eyebrow.
‘Also, I suffered a broken nose, a broken cheekbone and a fractured eye socket.’
Mr Leggett believes he was attacked in the festival taxi queue between 3pm and 5pm, police told him due to the cleanness of the cuts it might have been a knife.
He was taken to Aintree Hospital after the attack and surgeons are believed to have saved his eyesight.
