A young couple who were last seen going out to celebrate Halloween have been found dead.
Police have launched an investigation into the deaths of Charlie Eccleston, 19, and his 20-year-old girlfriend Zaiga Gravenieks.
Officers are working to establish whether the deaths were related to a crime.
It was suspected that the couple, who were last seen in Shenley, Hertfordshire on October 31, had travelled to the London Colney area, but their bodies have been discovered.
A Hertfordshire Police spokesman said: ‘Their families have been informed and are being supported by specially-trained officers.
‘They wish to extend their thanks to everyone that searched for Charlie and Zaiga and shared appeals for information on social media.
‘The families now ask that they have the privacy to mourn the loss of Charlie and Zaiga.’
Family members of the pair have been desperately appealing for help finding them over the last five days.
Zaiga’s sister Mara had said: ‘They were last seen together leaving Chazz’s property in Borehamwood, Herts, (by flatmates) to go out on Tuesday 31 October 2017 to celebrate Halloween.
‘They have not been seen since or had any contact with anyone that we know of. If anyone had any contact with them or knows any information please get in touch.’
Zaiga was a musician studying at Bedford College, while Charlie was in a band called Dessert Smoker.
