Think of the most luxurious, relaxing morning you’ve ever enjoyed, and then times it by 1000.

What you’re left picturing is something close to Princess Margaret’s normal morning in about 1955.

Man branded school pupils 'retards' after they put memorial to dead friend near his home

An extract from the book Ma’am Darling by Craig Brown, which details the Queen’s sister’s morning routine, has gone viral and it’s not hard to see why.

Margaret, who died in 2002, clearly appreciated the finer things in life – her standard start to the day included breakfast in bed, reading the papers for two hours while chain smoking, and a nice hot bath.

And after all that stress, she obviously needed a ‘vodka pick-me-up’ (I’m not sure what that is, but I do know I need one).

Not bad, huh?

The extract was posted on Twitter, where people seemed to agree that Margaret was living the good life.

Blimey, with a hectic morning like that I can see why she needs a vodka pick-me-up at 12:30.
